Patients walked into his room screaming and some hit him - he was petrified. He was not a flight risk and should not have been in this unit at all. It took us 2 weeks of arguing/insisting that he be moved upstairs.Once upstairs, the real nightmare began. There were staff he was downright scared of and he told us keep this person away from me! We had to repeat over and over for the staff to use the waist strap to get him up, but no, his arms/shoulders were in constant pain from them pulling him up by the limbs. I came into his room on several occasions and found his roommate on the floor having fallen out of bed, grasping at air with his arm for help - no one noticed!
